Providing Study Material in Sign Language for Hearing-Impaired Persons

CRC (Composite Regional Centre) Jaipur has taken a significant initiative keeping in mind the special needs of hearing-impaired individuals. For the first time in Rajasthan, a dedicated Indian Sign Language Recording Lab has been established here. In this lab, various study materials are being recorded in Indian Sign Language and made available to persons with hearing disabilities.

The main objective of this initiative is to overcome the learning challenges faced by children with hearing impairments. Under this program, textbooks and other educational content are being recorded in sign language and provided to the children to enhance their learning experience.

Additionally, information related to various government schemes and policies, which was earlier difficult for persons with hearing impairments to understand through written material, is now being recorded in Indian Sign Language and made accessible to them.

At present, CRC Jaipur is also conducting a two-year Diploma Course in Indian Sign Language, approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi. Students from Rajasthan and other states are learning specialized skills in sign language through this program.

As per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, every child has the right to receive primary education in their own language. Considering this, CRC Jaipur has taken this initiative to ensure that children with hearing impairments are not deprived of their educational rights.

Under the leadership of Mr. Neeraj Madhukar, Director of CRC Jaipur, this initiative is a major step toward creating an accessible environment and fulfilling the vision of an inclusive society.
