CRC Jaipur & Vivekananda Global University hold program on International Hemophilia Day
Note: International Hemophilia Day is observed every year on
April 17. This awareness program was held on
May 8, 2025.
Under the joint auspices of the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development,
Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC), Jaipur and
Vivekananda Global University, an awareness program was organized on the occasion
of International Hemophilia Day.
From CRC Jaipur, Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Special
Education, provided detailed information on services offered by the Government of India.
He also explained Hemophilia as an inherited bleeding disorder in which the blood lacks
adequate clotting factors, causing delayed or prolonged bleeding even after minor injuries
or surgeries. The condition predominantly affects males and is passed on genetically from
parents to children.
Mr. Shivam Sharma, Physiotherapist at CRC, discussed daily living and routine management
for people with hemophilia. He emphasized that the primary goals of physiotherapy are to
protect joints, prevent bleeding, and relieve swelling, pain, and stiffness. This involves
specific exercises and techniques that strengthen muscles, improve joint mobility, and
reduce the risk of bleeding.
Approximately 100 participants took part in the program. CRC Director Mr. Neeraj Madhukar
stated that CRC and Vivekananda Global University will continue to work together in the
future to prevent various types of disabilities and to advance their treatment.
